Issuing visas at the National Airport Minsk

In order to facilitate the procedure of issuance of the entry visas at the Minsk National Airport on August 16, 2013 the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus Nr.725 on amendments to the Visa rules of the Republic of Belarus was issued on August 16, 2013.

According to the Resolution starting from August 22, 2013, all foreign citizens arriving in the Republic of Belarus through the Minsk National Airport will be able to obtain entry visas at the Airport.

Invitations must be submitted to the Foreign Admissions Division (FAD) of the Consular Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in advance: for short-term visas – not later than 3 business days before expected date of arrival; for long-term visas — not later than 5 business days before expected date of arrival. Other visa support documents may be presented after arriving in Belarus, during an interview with a Consular officer.

In case of serious illness or death of a close relative or spouse of a foreigner visa support documents can be submitted at the time of application of the foreigner for a visa.

Invitations may be submitted by the inviting company or person to the FAD located at the National Airport Minsk (telephone: +375 17 279 20 58) or by post, taking into account the timing of delivery (220054, Minsk, the territory of National Airport Minsk, Foreign Admissions Division of the Consular Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus).

Short-term student visas are issued only in the event of personal presence at the «National Airport Minsk» of a representative of the organization authorized by law to issue invitations for study.

Additional information on issuing visas at the National Airport Minsk is presented on the MFA web-site: http://mfa.gov.by/en/visa/airport/

The possibility of applying for a visa at the airport of Minsk does not mean that a foreigner will surely get a visa after arriving. The final decision by a Consular officer on issuing a visa is taken after looking through all the documents of visa support and a personal interview with a foreigner. Even after arriving to the airport of Minsk a foreigner may by refused in issuing a visa by a Consular officer without explaining a reason.

To avoid misunderstanding (wasting payment for tickets and so on) we recommend to apply for a visa at the nearest diplomatic or consular mission of Belarus.
