On the video conference of the Ambassador of Belarus Mr. Sergei Terentiev with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt

On June 16, 2020, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Sergei Terentiev held a videoconference with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Khalid Abdelgaffar.

The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Igor Karpenko to Egypt in February 2020, in particular, the elaboration of joint educational projects in the field of higher education, as well as the schedule of upcoming contacts and events between the educational authorities of the two countries.

The Ambassador informed about the interest of leading Belarusian higher educational institutions such as BSU, BSUIR and BNTU in implementing joint educational projects with Cairo University, Ain Shams University and Kafr El Sheikh University in the field of applied technology and medicine. He noted that the proposals of the Belarusian universities are under consideration by Egyptian partners.

The parties agreed that formalization of agreements on educational projects will be carried out during the II Forum of Rectors of the Leading Higher Educational Institutions of Belarus and Egypt on the sidelines of the visit of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt to Belarus in the autumn of 2020.
