Delegation of the Minsk Oblast visits the South Sinai Governorate

On April 21 – 27, 2019, the official delegation of the Minsk Oblast, headed by the Deputy Chairman of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Mr. Nikolai Rogaschuk, is visiting the South Sinai Governorate in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Minsk Oblast, Republic of Belarus, and the South Sinai Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt, for trade, economic, social and cultural cooperation. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Dr. Sergei Rachkov is participating in the events of the visit.

During the visit, the brief meetings with the Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and the Minister of Youth and Sports of Egypt Dr. Ashraf Sobhy took place.

At the meeting with the Governor of South Sinai Gen. Khaled Fouda Seddik, a congratulatory letter of the Chairman of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Mr. Anatoly Isachenko on the occasion of Sinai Liberation Day was conveyed, topical issues of interregional cooperation were discussed, as well as the Program of joint actions for implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the regions for the years 2019 – 2021. It was agreed to schedule several events for the year 2019, in particular the Days of the Minsk Oblast in the South Sinai Governorate.

During the round table, the parties considered the issues of enhancing cooperation in the field of trade and investment, tourism, including medical tourism, and healthcare. The Belarusian delegation members visited one of the medical centers, the Olympic Village, the recreation complex and the industrial zone.

The parties also noted the successful cooperation in organizing joint sports events and agreed to hold training camps for Belarusian athletes using the wide possibilities of sports facilities of the governorate.
