On the visit of the Belarusian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov to Oman

On April 1-2, 2026, a Belarusian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov visited the Sultanate of Oman. 
The key event of the visit was the first meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation and Investment chaired by Maxim Ryzhenkov on April 1, 2026. The Omani delegation was chaired by Abdelsalam Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority. 


During the meeting, the parties reviewed the implementation of the Roadmap for the Development of Bilateral Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman for 2026-2027, signed in October 2025 during a high-level visit to Belarus. Issues of cooperation in industry, agriculture, healthcare, information technology, and other sectors were discussed. Following the meeting, a protocol was signed in the form of an action plan for the implementation of the Roadmap. 
Minister M. Ryzhenkov held a separate meeting with the President of the Oman Investment Authority, Abdelsalam Al Murshidi. The parties discussed in detail the implementation of the agreements between the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tareq Al Said, as well as future areas of work of the Joint Committee, the schedule of upcoming meetings, and participation in joint events.  


On April 2, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus was received by Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said. 
The parties emphasized the high level of Belarusian-Omani cooperation, driven by the political will of the two leaders, which sets the tone for the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following high-level visits in 2024-2025, with an emphasis on trade and economic cooperation. 


M. Ryzhenkov also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi. The two sides emphasized the effective cooperation between the two countries’ foreign ministries. 
They noted the entry into force in March 2026 of a visa-free regime for holders of ordinary passports between Belarus and Oman, as well as the work on opening the embassies in Muscat and Minsk, as tangible results of this cooperation. 
They discussed a schedule of joint events for the near future, including reciprocal visits and political consultations. 
The foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to mutual support within international organizations and to opposing the use of coercive measures against sovereign states. 
The regional situation was discussed. The parties noted their similar positions regarding the need to resolve conflicts peacefully using political and diplomatic tools. 
M.Ryzhenkov invited his Omani counterpart to pay an official visit to Minsk. 


A meeting was held with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman, Saud Al Habsi. 
The ministers noted the significant potential for expanding cooperation in the supply of a wide range of food products, as well as veterinary drugs. 
They discussed the progress of joint projects in the areas of baby food and powdered milk, emphasizing their readiness to continue active work in these areas. 
They confirmed their commitment to mutual participation in food exhibitions held in Belarus and Oman. 


M. Ryzhenkov also met with the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, Anwar bin Hilal bin Hamdoon Al Jabri. 
The positive results of industrial cooperation between the Belarusian enterprises MAZ and Amkodor were noted. The issues of supply, re-export, and assembly of Belarusian agricultural, cargo, municipal, and other machinery and equipment, including through trilateral projects were discussed. 
Prospects for cooperation in furniture production were also identified. 


On April 2, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus delivered a welcoming speach at the Belarus-Omani Business Forum. 
The event was attended by over 200 companies representing the banking, food, industrial, investment, pharmaceutical, and IT sectors. In addition to presenting Belarus's export potential, direct B2B business contacts and also individual negotiations between business circles in relevant areas took place on the sidelines of the forum.
