Economic cooperation

In February 2018, an agreement was signed establishing the Belarusian-Algerian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation (which entered into force in 2019).

The first meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Algerian IGC was held in Minsk in April 2025. Issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing bilateral trade turnover, eliminating barriers to mutual trade, and enhancing interaction in industry, agriculture, higher education, tourism, pharmaceuticals, banking and finance, startups, and microenterprises were discussed.

The following sectors were identified as potential key areas of bilateral cooperation: industry, agriculture, food security, and pharmaceuticals.

The second meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Algerian IGC is planned for 2026 in Minsk.

On the sidelines of the Belarusian President's visit to Algeria, the first Belarusian-Algerian Business Forum was held, and a business council was established. The formalization of previously reached agreements, including in the area of trade, was completed. A roadmap was signed, along with a Joint Statement by the Presidents of Belarus and Algeria on Strengthening Friendship and Partnership, outlining key areas of cooperation.

The Belarusian President’s visit to Algeria has given impetus to the launch of joint industrial cooperation projects.

Belarusian companies regularly participate in international exhibitions in Algeria, including DJAZAGRO and the Intra-African Trade Fair.
