On the visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Egypt to Algeria

From March 15 to 17, 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Evgueni Sobolevski, visited Algeria to follow up on the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Algeria in December 2025.

During the visit, the Ambassador held a meeting with Yacine Oualid, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries of Algeria and Co-Chair from the Algerian Side of the Joint Belarusian-Algerian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and Director of Giplait Group Samah Lahloukh. 
The Sides discussed preparations for the meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Algerian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as the organization of specialized and business events on the sidelines of the meeting.
The Parties noted the progress achieved in agricultural cooperation. They emphasized their willingness to continue working on joint projects in the area of food security and confirmed their interest in expanding the range of Belarusian products supplied to Algeria, including veterinary drugs and feed.

The meeting was held with the Minister of Industry of Algeria Yahya Bashir and the management of AGM Holding.
The implementation of planned industrial projects, including tractors, buses, harvesters and grain drying systems, was discussed. They noted the active development of contacts between industrial enterprises in the two countries.

During the visit, the Ambassador met with the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines Mohamed Arkab.
They discussed areas of common interest between the two countries in the mining, oil and gas sectors. Specific steps for further joint work were outlined. 

A meeting was held with Said Mizyane, Director General of the European Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of Algeria.

The Parties coordinated schedule of bilateral events for the near future.
They discussed the implementation of the full range of agreements reached between the Heads of Belarus and Algeria in December 2025, with a focus on trade and economic cooperation. They emphasized the potential for developing cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
