Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus E.Shestakov pays a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman

On February 13 – 14, 2024 a Belarusian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, paid a working visit to Muscat (Oman).

The central event of the visit was the 7th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Oman. The Omani delegation was headed by the, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman for Political Affairs, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa al-Harthi.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment and humanitarian spheres, improving the legal framework of Belarusian-Omani relations, as well as regional issues.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of mutual visits and high-level events.

As part of his visit to Muscat, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus held a meeting with the Undersecretary for Investment Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Ibtisam bint Ahmed bin Said Al-Faroujiya.

The parties discussed the possibilities of intensifying trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as implementing joint projects.

The participants of the meeting focused on the need to launch direct flight between Belarus and Oman.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus also met with the Chair of the Board of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal al-Rawas.

The issues of interaction between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, including the formation of the Belarusian-Omani Business Committee, were discussed.

The parties positively noted the intensification of contacts between the business communities of Belarus and Oman and discussed the results of the visits of representatives of the businessmen of the two countries in 2023.

On February 13, 2024 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus participated in the opening ceremony of the Office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in the Sultanate of Oman.
