Ambassador of Belarus Sergei Rachkov met with the Minister of Public Business Sector

On April 9, 2019 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Sergei Rachkov met with the Minister of Public Business Sector of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Hisham Anwar Tawfiq.

On the Belarusian Side the meeting was attended by the delegation of JSC «Minsk Automobile Plant» (MAZ) headed by the Deputy Director General – Commercial Director Mr. Gennadiy Skitov. On the Egyptian Side the meeting was attended by the Executive Chairman of the Holding Company of Metallurgical Industries Dr. Medhat Nafei and the Chairman of the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Company (EAMCO) Mr. Amin Yahia Hussein.

During the meeting the Sides discussed a possibility of using JSC «MAZ» trucks, jointly produced at Helwan Machinery and Equipment company of the Ministry of Military Production of Egypt, for the needs of cargo transport companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector in order to further develop the Egyptian freight transportation system.

In addition a possibility of certain models of cargo and passenger equipment production of JSC «MAZ» on the basis of the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Company with the subsequent output of joint products to the markets of third countries was considered.

The Sides also discussed a possibility of mining dump trucks delivery of JSC «BELAZ» for the needs of mining and metallurgical companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector in order to implement mining projects on the territory of Egypt.

On April 10, 2019, the delegation of JSC «Minsk Automobile Plant» is visiting the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Company and will conduct detailed negotiations with the company’s management, as well as familiarize themselves with the existing production base.
