On the celebration of the Day of Unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia

On April 2, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Egypt held a reception dedicated to the Day of Unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia.

The event was attended by citizens of Belarus and Russia living in Egypt, representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of Egypt, businessmen, journalists, public figures, diplomats.

The guests were presented with an exhibition of paintings by Belarusian and Russian artists, as well as a concert organized by the Embassies and the Diaspora.

The heads of the diplomatic missions of Belarus and Russia addressed the audience with congratulations.
In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt S. Terentiev emphasized — “Belarus and Russia demonstrate a unique model of building integration ties, which has no analogues in the post-Soviet space. This is a union of two sovereign states on the basis of combining economic, intellectual and spiritual potentials, ensuring mutual security.”

The Ambassador of Belarus also noted that “The goal of the union between Belarus and Russia is to strengthen relations of brotherhood and friendship, develop comprehensive cooperation, improve the living standards and well-being of the two peoples, sustainable socio-economic development of our states.”

The event had a wide positive response and received coverage in the Egyptian media.
