On the 3rd meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian working group in the field of agriculture

On October 7, 2025, Eugene Belov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt, took part in the 3rd meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian working group in the field of agriculture, which was held via videoconference under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Ivan Smilgin and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt, Dr. Mustafa El Sayad.
The parties noted a significant increase in agricultural trade: it doubled in 2024 compared to 2023. Belarus supplied dairy products to Egypt, while Egypt supplied Belarus fruits, vegetables, melons, and coffee extracts and essences.
At the meeting, key areas of further cooperation were discussed, including simplification of trade procedures, veterinary and phytosanitary certification, recognition by Egypt of Belarusian Halal certificates to expand access of domestic products to the Egyptian market, registration and supply of Belarusian baby food to Egypt, joint projects in feed production, supplies of Belarusian agricultural machinery and the development of cooperation in mechanization, scientific and educational collaboration in food security, and other areas.
