On holding a press conference with Egyptian observers at the presidential elections in Belarus

On February 9, 2025, a press conference was held at the Embassy of Belarus in Egypt with Egyptian observers at the presidential elections in the Republic of Belarus: Ezzat Saad, Director of the Egyptian Council on Foreign Affairs, former Ambassador of Egypt to Russia and Belarus (concurrently), and Tarek al-Awadi, member of the Presidential Amnesty Committee, Director of the Center for Supporting the Rule of Law.

During the event, it was noted that representatives of Egypt took part in observing the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus in 2025 for the first time. Egyptian observers emphasized that the presidential elections held in the Republic of Belarus were transparent and democratic, were conducted in accordance with the requirements of the country's electoral legislation and the international obligations accepted by Belarus.

Observers did not note any violations of national legislation that could cast doubt on the legitimacy of the elections or affect their results. They also emphasized the active participation of citizens in the voting process and the high professional level of organization of the election campaign.
