Belarus Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection delegation visited Sudan

April 30 — May 2, 2017 the delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus headed by Minister Andrei Kovkhuto visited Sudan.

During the visit the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus met with the Prime Minister — First Vice-President, ministers of mineral resources, oil and gas, natural resources and urban development, water resources, irrigation and electrification, environment, higher education and scientific research of the Republic of Sudan.

 

The Belarusian delegation visited the Khartoum gold processing plant, a large company “ARIAB Mining”, as well as a number of chemical laboratories which specialize on minerals.

Belarusian and Sudanese experts held negotiations in field of geological exploration, mining and communal services. The Parties discussed the possibilities of participation of Belarusian organizations in realization of projects in Sudan as for explore and extract gold deposits, develop methods for solving geological and geophysical problems, drilling artesian wells and use water purification technologies, aerospace monitoring of geological processes in Sudan.

The Parties also discussed possibilities of participation of Belarusian legal entities in the implementation of waste recycling projects and preparation of long-term development plans in this sphere.

As a result of the visit the Parties outlined a programme of joint actions to develop bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
