Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus E.Shestakov pays a working visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt

On February 14-15, 2024, a delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Yevgeny Shestakov visited Cairo (Egypt).

As part of the visit, the 7th round of Belarusian-Egyptian political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Egypt was held.

During the consultations, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus discussed with the head of the Egyptian delegation, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt for European Affairs Khaled Emara, the issues of intensifying Belarusian-Egyptian cooperation and promising areas of interaction in the political, trade, economic, tourism, and humanitarian spheres, as well as topical issues on the regional agenda.

The parties considered the possibilities of developing the legal framework of the bilateral relations. Active interaction between Belarus and Egypt in international organizations was underlined.

During his working visit to Cairo on February 15, 2024, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus met with Khaled Manzlawi, Deputy Secretary General of the LAS for International Political Affairs.

The parties discussed ways to intensify interaction between the Republic of Belarus and the League of Arab States, as well as regional issues in order to coordinate positions on pressing problems in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between Belarus and the Arab countries, especially in the area of food security.

In the course of the meeting, the message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Sergei Aleinik, addressed to the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, was handed over.

During his visit to Cairo, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus also met with representatives of the Egyptian business community to discuss specific mechanisms for intensifying trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Egypt.
