Trade and economic cooperation

In the pre-crisis period, the Belarusian-Libyan joint commission on economic, trade and scientific-technical cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya operated with Libya. The last (third) meeting of the commission was held in Minsk in October 2009.

In 2002 and 2009 National expositions of the Republic of Belarus were organized at the 31st and 38th international exhibitions in Tripoli.

UN Security Council sanctions continue to apply against Libya, according to which, in order to export certain goods (equipment, etc.) to this country, it is necessary to obtain permission from the UN Security Council Committee on Libya, established by UN Security Council Resolution No. 1973 of March 17, 2011.
