On the meeting of Belarusian Ambassador Evgueni Sobolevski with Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion

On 19 October 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Evgueni Sobolevski met with Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig.

The parties discussed current issues of Belarusian-Algerian trade and economic cooperation, as well as progress in implementing agreements reached at the highest and high levels. Particular attention was paid to prospects for joint projects to establish production facilities in Algeria for Belarusian tractors, buses and grain-drying complexes.

The parties considered opportunities for arranging pilot deliveries of Belarusian machinery to the Algerian market with a view to expanding the presence of Belarusian manufacturers and further developing industrial cooperation.

Special attention was also given to increasing bilateral trade and ensuring a balanced trade relationship. In this regard, the parties discussed prospects for expanding supplies of Algerian agricultural products, including fruit, olive oil and dates, to the Belarusian market.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in intensifying bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest. In line with previously extended invitations the possibility of organizing the visit of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion of Algeria to the Republic of Belarus was discussed.
