On the National Remembrance Day of Victims of Great Patriotic War and Genocide of Belarusian People

June 22 is a sacred date for Belarus. On this day in 1941, Nazi Germany treacherously attacked the USSR. During the war (1941–1945) every third Belarusian died. Today Belarus marks a solemn date – the National Remembrance Day of Victims of Great Patriotic War and Genocide of Belarusian People.

On June 22 at 12:00 Minsk time, a nationwide minute of silence will be observed in memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War.
